Yehliu.

Last weekend we finally visited the North East Coast of Taiwan. This has been on our list all year and we decided to make a day trip out of it on Sunday. We were up early and on the bus to Taipei by 8. From there we took the bus to Yehliu which took about one hour, arriving just after 10:30.

Yehliu is know for it's beautiful rock formations on the coast which are thought to be 10-15 million years old. Unfortunately because of the number of tourists visiting each year, some of the formations have been damaged and are disappearing. The textures of the rocks are fabulous.

We were glad to arrive when we did, as the weather was perfect and the crowds were small due to predicted rain. We spent nearly 3 hours just wandering around and enjoying the views.
