Tom is a friend from Taiwan. He and his wife, Alice, moved into a new apartment last spring which had it's very own OVEN! A very rare thing for Taiwan. We spent a number of weekends hanging out and enjoying delicious food with Tom and Alice. They are very adventurous in their cooking and love to try a variety of new recipes. We're excited to be able to keep in touch and see what they're cooking up. We miss you guys!

Isn't she adorable?!! (sorry the picture isn't that great - camera was running out of battery) She's an Australian Shepherd and only 5 weeks old. We have yet to name her...so far the suggestions include:
Aloysius Snuffleupagus Temperance Maggie Sally Dottie Atlas Geo Boots Gladys Ethel Max Liberty Justice Brownwin Yantzey Zola Patch Silky Viola Janeatecc Tai Jehan Harris Do-Bi
Because she's so young, we won't be able to bring her home until January 1st.
This weekend we've also been doing a lot of cooking. We stocked our pantry with homemade granola and egg noodles. We also made some refrigerator pickles, dried apples and the most delicious Honey-Whole Wheat bread.
Last night we busted out the crock pot and roasted a whole chicken with yummy veggies. Tonight we're having bean soup with some left over chicken. Both will keep our tummies full at work this week as we both start our new jobs tomorrow!!!
It's been great not working these past few months - traveling, visiting family and friends - but we're both looking forward to work and the routine that it will bring to our days and weeks.
Hope everyone is staying warm and enjoying the festive holiday season. Until next time....
