Advice, please!

I'm more of a Suzie Homemaker than a Mrs. Fix-It.

While the kitchen is still very much under construction, I'm working out decor and organization in my head.

One thing I'm stuck on is whether or not to do crown molding in the kitchen...?!

I LOVE the look, but am not sure if my doing it in the kitchen means that I then will want to do crown molding throughout the whole house!

the Heironimi

This morning I spent some time hanging out with friends of ours taking some family photos for them.  What do you think?

I LOVE Avery's face!!

"Nathan, smile!"

I love Heather's face in this one!

Where's Avery?!

There she is!

I think this is my favorite picture of the morning!

Thank you, Heironimus' for a fun morning!!
You have one stinkin' cute little girl!

I've been avoiding updating the blog...
First of all, I've been busy...but it's also because I just wanted to have a finished kitchen to share! =)
Patience. Right.
So in the mean time, here's what we've been up to lately.

Drywall is up.  We (well I) spent a few days mudding and sanding, mudding, sanding, mudding, sanding.
You get the picture.  Took FOREVER!
But once it was finished, it was a glorious day because I got to PAINT!
The kitchen is now a lovely sage green color.
Once the paint was dry - which took much longer than expected in this humid weather - we were able to move in a few cabinets.
We even hooked up our dishwasher!
Unfortunately the remainder of the cabinets must wait until the floor has been leveled - our current project.
Again, the mud we're using is taking much longer to dry than expected...dreaded humidity!

So it's not the best picture and definitely doesn't do the color justice, but here's the current state of our kitchen.

MOST of the kitchen...the fridge and more cabinets are not pictured to the left.
I love the black appliances with the pale cabinets!  Hope the countertop looks good! ;)
Dishwasher is installed!   Once the sink is in I can finally stop using the tub to do dishes!
The best photo I got today to show the color - sage green.
Today I finally finished the ceiling - had to repair some of the popcorn on the ceiling.  It now has two beautiful coats of paint on it - and I have a horribly stiff neck.
But alas - we're ready to install our new light fixtures!
And hopefully turn the power back on in that part of the house soon!

On another note, I have my first Professional Development Day tomorrow and again on Thursday.
Where did my summer go!?
School starts in just 9 days!

Hope you're all well and enjoying what's left of your summer.

Until Next time...

Mei Mei's new spot!

Meet Brooke.

Brooke and I are cousins.
She's a senior.
Monday we spent the day taking her Senior Photos.
Here's a sneak peak of her photos...

Isn't she stunning?
Thank you, Brooke, for letting me take your photos.
It was a much needed break from working on the house!
