Advice, please!

I'm more of a Suzie Homemaker than a Mrs. Fix-It.

While the kitchen is still very much under construction, I'm working out decor and organization in my head.

One thing I'm stuck on is whether or not to do crown molding in the kitchen...?!

I LOVE the look, but am not sure if my doing it in the kitchen means that I then will want to do crown molding throughout the whole house!

  1. will you WANT to?, most likely YES. it makes almost any room look more finished. if you're willing to do the work later, you could always wait till the kitchen is finished and see if you want to add it. i would suggest, however, that if you do it in your kitchen, also do it in the dining/living rooms that can be seen from your kitchen. this will make them feel like they are part of the same space. can't wait to see how it all turns out!

  2. I don't know if you already made your decision on this, but are your corners square? Depending on what type of molding you get, you can end up having a horrid time of it trying to make right angles fit into not-square seams. I'd take a speed square and check your seams now and again, just so you know what you're getting into.
