dear caleb // month eleven

Dear Caleb,

I've been putting off writing this letter, secretly hoping that in doing so I'd be able to stop time.  Not because I don't want you to grow up, but because it's all happening so fast, I don't want to miss a single minute of it!  It's hard to believe that we're a few short weeks away from celebrating your first birthday!

Each month these letters get harder and harder to write.  Not because there's nothing going on, but because there is so much I don't want to forget.  You're no longer our "baby" but nearing a toddler and looking more and more like a little boy each and every day.

11 months is the BEST!  You're so much fun right now and a ball of laughter most days!

You talk non-stop.  I love how you raise your eye brows with every sentence to add to your story telling.  I can't wait to hear about your day from your perspective!

You're not super interested in walking, though love to cruise around the house holding on to furniture, toys, walls, and even Maggie.  Sometimes you take funny side-steps to make your way from one side of the room to another, but mostly you prefer to use your famous bear crawl!

You still very much love being outdoors and will stand at the front door waiting to go out to play.  Thankfully the weather has been perfect for us to spend a few hours playing outside most days - when we do you're noticeably in a better mood!

You already have such a great imagination, making car sounds as your push your cars around the room and giving life to your stuffed animals.  It's so fun to watch the wheels turn and see your eyes light up when you share this wonderful imagination with us.

We love exploring this giant world with you.  You slow us down and point out things we otherwise wouldn't have noticed, and for that we are so thankful!

Thank you, little buddy, for lighting up our lives!
love you forever,
 mama & daddy
